A PNW good morning to everyone, but especially to the people working on their books today. ❤️

Said goodbye to my boy yesterday. It's been a hell of a summer.

Today is Independent Bookstore Day and *also* a great day to support your local independent bookstore. 😁📚

Sorry, Earth. 😭

You guys! My last beta reader finished the book, so I finally read through all the beta comments.

Yes, I have work to do, but my path forward is clear and will 💯 improve the story. Moreover, I feel excited to tackle the changes and improvements, so this is a big win for me. 🥳🥰

You guys, I was tonight-years-old when I discovered A Wrinkle in Time is the first in a series.

Book 1 of 5. F.I.V.E.

I read that book until it disintegrated. I *still* have the replacement copy.

Which obs leaves me deep in a G&T, ordering books 2-5, and questioning many of my life choices. 😭💔📚

💯. How can you use your art to join the fight?

Spotted at Norwescon: @lindseysparksbooks.bsky.social with a glorious book table! 🤩
April 18, 2025 at 4:53 PM
There are tiny Easter eggs and creatures randomly hidden around Norwescon. I’m lowkey sure this is how side quests start.

If I disappear, tell Thistle (my TBR monster) he can have my bookmarks.
April 17, 2025 at 11:06 PM
My suitcase is packed for Norwescon. 🧙🚀🧌👾
📚Books: accounted for.
📒Notebook: included.
🧳Empty suitcase space: purely coincidental... 😏

My TBR pile has officially gained sentience. It growls when I walk by, rearranges itself at night, and insists on being called Thistle. Don't ask me why. 🤷

I've barely begun packing for Norwescon, and Thistle is already sulking about the possibility of new arrivals.

Spotted in Seattle: Discworld.

Either the city is drifting between dimensions again, or someone left Luggage unsupervised.

Them: Sorry to cancel last minute!

Me: *Eyes the gloriously wide-open day* "Don't worry about it. I'll be fine."

Rereading Ishiguro's The Buried Giant, because why meet new characters when the old ones haunt your heart and live rent-free in your brain? 😁📚

Habitat! For the last few years, I've had tree frogs move into the greenhouse and plant themselves between my seedlings. For scale, these are 2" cells in six-pack pots. 😍🐸

Absolutely me. I grew up gloriously unsupervised, fueled by library books, sarcasm, and hose water.

Still a little wild. Still reading past bedtime. Still here.

Happy April Fools’ Day to the writers who *think* they’re in control of their stories and characters.

For the rest of us: tears, snacks, and winging it = peak self-care. 🥲📚✍️

To every trans writer out there, thank you.

I see you.

I support you.

I’m cheering for you today and every day. 💜

All my beta readers but one have finished my manuscript.

The exception is my husband, who hasn't started. He says he’s “waiting for the right mood.”

I respect that. I also need his notes to finish revising, so if the mood could hurry up, that’d be great. 🧐⌛️

😍 A letter cloud.
March 30, 2025 at 2:46 AM
Today, I'm excited to go on a date with my husband to location scout for my WIP. It will be romantic as long as he ignores me muttering things like, “This is where the body goes” and “Perfect spot for a magical meltdown” or "How do I describe the odor in this alley?" 😆

I write fantasy. I read fantasy. 85% of my brain is fantasy.🪄🐉🧙‍♀️

But every now and then, I pick up a book with no magic, no goblins, no dragons, no nothing. And somehow, it’s still good.

Baffling. 😆🤔
