And that’s where I have a problem ultimately, i as an individual should be to be virtually invisible digitally for my entire digital footprint without having to jump through hoops to do so. Everyone should, otherwise it opens the door to the nightmare that we are staring down now.

Why does everyone all the time everywhere need to be a data source without explicit opt in?

I’m not saying the data collection method should expensive, it just should be public and explicitly opt in (for everything not just medical)

We used to do publically funded research at universities with outcomes that resulted in IP that was free for all to use. We need that back badly

Yes they are! But all healthcare should be based on a system of being revenue neutral, not profit. Otherwise we are just heading even further towards what the US has. And that includes research and development.

The aim should be making us all healthier, not some investors profit margin.

It all ties into the big broad issue that no one in power wants to tackle, which is all of this tech is being used to enrich individuals, rather than the general populace.

Which is fair, however, if that’s going to be the case than it needs to be publically controlled, and not via shares, but by good old government research like we used to do.

Using AI tools to develop technology as a scientific tool is wildly different than using it in ways that gobble up personal data and information though, and one thing we desperately need to copy from the EU is privacy and all data protection. We have empowered corporations way to much with data

I would take it a step further and the leader can only be elected after the general population elections. No leadership debates or giant slam fests. Force the conversations about platform to the doorstep, not the media spectacle machine.
