Another question, does the demand line on these graphs include batteries charging as part of demand?

For example, right now renewables are generating 100% of CA energy demand, but that does not include batteries charging. As a result, the batteries are being charged in part by gas power

I got the news that my elderly neighbor passed away so I went to the observation car to look out the window and process

Spontaneously these guys were playing melancholy folk songs

Voters have a more negative view of Trump's handling of the Kilmar Abrego Garcia case than any of the other issues polled

Electeds like Gavin Newsom who think Kilmar is a "losing issue" aren't following data, they are following misguided hunches

Right now solar is generating more electricity than coal in the nation's dirtiest grid, the PJM grid

I just learned that the total number of cars sold in the world peaked in 2018

Seems like great news. Does anyone know why there was such a decrease from 2018 to 2019?

This blows my mind

US per capita emissions are lowered today than they were in 1916

Does anyone know how this is possible? In 1916 fewer than one third of Americans even had electricity

I'm always amazed when I look at just how fast coal use has dropped in the US

It's a huge victory not just for climate but also for reductions in mercury, arsenic, and air pollution

So many people will live longer healthier lives because coal use has dropped so much and I love it
