Oh yeah they are vvv camera off. The funny thing is that I actually often prefer them to have camera off (during presenting parts) because I find that people often have quite neutral/bored expressions when watching screens which then stresses me out. If I can’t see them, I can picture them happy 😅

The discussions are really useful if they are willing to take part. It’s particularly bad with early career researchers. I get it, because I feel awkward in breakout rooms but I see people leave the call if I mention them now.
