This from refs is always infuriating. When its already during time added in and they let players get away with further timewasting (e.g. feigning cramp/injury, taking 45s for a goalkick, throw or fk, subs), they point to their watch, maybe give an overdue yellow, then add on no further time.

It was somewhat galling that the original freekick was overturned, given what happened to Virgil vs Brentford – the freekick was upgraded to a pen without ref review due to 'factual' decision. If ref had seen on monitor I think he'd have said no foul like last night said no handball.

Frustratingly I put Gravenberch on the bench when he got injured before gw9 and forgot to put him back in the team for gw10!

On turn 1, I think Charles should have given a place back to Lewis or received a penalty. I don't think Max deserved a pen for turn 1, as he gave all the places back. George had no legit claim for Max to give him a place, as Max was well clear of George before turn 1.

I'm a Lewis fan and I was staggered that Ferrari didn't tell him to give the place back. He locked up going into the corner, cut it and rejoined the track way ahead. Lewis left the track and gained an advantage. Maybe others deserved a penalty too, but you can't complain that Lewis got a penalty.

Do you have the video from this angle? I'd be keen to see it instead of just a still frame. Maybe contact initiated on the line?

Anyway, as I said last night, I don't think there was enough contact to constitute a foul. If the ref reviewed the video himself I don't think he gives the pen.

The side doesn't seem too attacking to me. Agreed it's not powerful enough though. There's a general lack of guile, pressing plans, traps, movement on and off the ball. Also a lack of quality when taking a shot!

It's annoying that the ref didn't get to go to the monitor for it, as I'm pretty sure he'd then see it and say it wasn't a foul, let alone a pen.

It's also annoying that Gakpo's wasn't given because he tried to jump the leg. Needs to learn to ensure there is proper contact...

Usually the fullbacks are getting the ball on the touchlines, then instead of going forward or inside, they're playing it backwards almost every time. When we went forward we were dangerous and even scored. Infuriating!

I don't think we have to accept that at all! This isn't just about new players getting used to the system. Existing players have been poor. We're far too negative, slow and sterile in possession. We aren't working hard enough with or without the ball.
