“Myself when young did eagerly frequent
Doctor and Saint, and heard great Argument
About it and about: but evermore
Came out by the same Door where in I went.”

“The Bird of Time has but a little way
To flutter – and the Bird is on the Wing.”
That’ll do the trick. Everybody listens to Starmer. Remember how hostilities in Palestine ceased the moment Starmer urged restraint?

Trump’s usual MO is to extort money from his victims via an out of court ‘settlement’, isn’t it?

But his threatening letter to the BBC seeks recompense for
“false, defamatory, disparaging, and inflammatory statements” it made about him in its TV doc.
Were there actually any actionable statements?

Gibb, a man of such unacceptably low principles that he considered Vote Leave’s conning of the electorate via the notorious “bus lie” to be a valid form of electioneering. He’s a cancer in the corporation.

The important thing here is simply to use the word "peaceful" a single time in a speech that runs over an hour, despite the fact that you've told the angry armed mob in front of you—which you know is armed—to be "wild" and "fight" and told them to do something they can't possibly do without violence

Some preliminary points:

Trump is unlikely to succeed in a claim for defamation against the BBC (on information available).

Even if he succeeded, damages for this alleged defamation would be no more than about £50k, probably less. Even the worst libels, now no more than about £100k.

£1bn? No way.

With the government shut down, flights cancelled, and hungry people going without SNAP benefits, Trump leaves his newly gilded palace for another weekend of golf and parties in Palm Beach.
