3/ ICE claimed that Mr. Quispe-Sulcarray, who had entered the US in November 2022 and had a confirmed immigration appointment in August 2029, was subject to mandatory detention under Section 1225 as a person who was "seeking entry" into the United States, . . .

Jeff worked with great skill and speed to file a petition for a writ of habeas corpus in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

5/5 The case was heard by Judge Valerie Caproni, who was a federal prosecutor and general counsel of the FBI before her appointment to the bench.

Today, on a Sunday (December 7), Judge Caproni ordered the "immediate" release of Mr. Quispe-Sulcarray.
