This compostable lid and straw are impressive. The straw in particular is a vast improvement over paper.

A bittersweet gift: my friend Michael Kordek commissioned this sketch from @meghanhetrick.bsky.social in 2016, the same year he died. And yesterday it came to me. It brings back all the joy in and love for #StarWars that he had. The Force will be with you, always.

In Feb. 1940, "If This Goes On..." was first published. It tells of the aftermath of the US electing a demagogue to the Presidency, his subsequent cancellation of elections, and the hypocritical theocracy that resulted.
