1/2 Portrait of Geza von Cziffra by Rudolf Schlichter (1926-27). My obsession with hands continues. This work is part of an impressive exhibition: Modern Art and Politics in Germany 1910-1945 now at the Kimbell Art Museum #ArtSky

Saint Paul the Hermit by Jusepe de Ribera (c 1640), Meadows Museum. Every time I visit I must see these hands. Long ago, I imagined myself an artist, and I struggled with hands. I look at these and I feel my own aged, aching fingers clutching the rosary. #ArtSky

Flaming June by Frederic Leighton (1895). Sat in front of this brilliance for a long while in the Meadows Museum. There is beauty in this world. #artsky
