I read this as “Holy shit container, queries are cool.”

a) I’m going to start using “holy shit container!”

b) a holy shit container would be a terrible thing in real life.
Holy shit container queries are cool.

@brianmc.bsky.social there’s a problem with the episode today. There’s two versions of the podcast playing at the same time!

@brianmc.bsky.social you’ve probably already done this, but: www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...

@mgsiegler.com so, in the world of search Google have gone from paying Apple a boatload of money every year, to getting paid (presumably handsomely) by Apple for providing a search LLM. Not bad! spyglass.org/apple-and-go... @mgsiegler.com

Been refreshing and logging out and back into ChatGPT since the GPT-5 announcement.

Just opened my Mac this morning and the Mac app has it! Web and mobile are still back in the stone ages.

I still think Nolan would have made for a better director to pick up the Bond franchise. For one, he could have used his fascination with time to figure out how we go back in time, undead Bond, and start again - maybe in the 60s again.

@briancasel.com that's a pretty good result!

I uploaded a PDF into the ChatGPT Mac app, and it confidently summarised the doc. But every single word was made up, based solely on the doc's title.

Then I tried again with the ChatGPT web version and get back "No text could be extracted from this file."

Which makes much more sense.

Be aware!

I ended up just muting the words “trump” and “musk” and now I’m really enjoying Bluesky again. A little respite from the crazy reality of what’s going on.
I’m genuinely exhausted by Trump and Musk and we’re only 2 weeks in. Is there a way to create a custom feed of the people I follow, but muting “trump” and “musk”? I don’t want to blanket mute them, but be able to access this feed when I just want to read about other more normal stuff.

1. I know this will cause me trouble, but it dismays me to see fellow environmentalists dismissing Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) out of hand, in some cases clearly before they have understood the technologies involved or their potential uses. 🧵

I’m not exactly sure what this photo is. Presumably, two BBC execs negotiating the budget for a peak-time show?

@brianmc.bsky.social you’d think modern cargo ships/tankers would be hybrid and use fuel AND wind power to have less environmental impact and be cheaper to run. Maybe there’s good reasons why not.

Here's a nice use case for #ChatGPT with Scheduled Tasks: I asked it to generate a newsletter every day at 8am, summing up yesterday's news on topics that I am interested in (UK-based fintech and startups), including links to the original articles.

I hate the little blue dot that tells me there is a new post above. I have to resist the urge to tap it, because I know once I’ve read it, I’ll have to scroll all the way back to where I was.

Kinda bummed Sora isn’t available in the UK yet. It could have been the one single benefit we’d had to leaving the EU.
