Ten years ago, on October 31st, 2015, we were already doing the Blue Jays pumpkin. #bluejays #wantitall

My favourite part was when the Blue Jays won. And also when the Dodgers lost.

Almost forgot the game is in LA and just on the big screen here when Vladdy hit that out. They did the light show and horn. Place went nuts.

No biggie. Third member of the family to run a marathon. First of many, I'm quite sure.

The boys and I did a shorter Sunday run we titled "Tour de Sports 2". Visited some of the sporting sites in Toronto including the Bat Flip mural, BMO Field and the site of the old Exhibition Stadium plus the Rogers Centre and Scotiabank Arena. www.strava.com/activities/1... #running #runTO

First morning in Newport Beach, CA. Here for work, but I’ll always make time for a run. Cooler than yesterday afternoon and less traffic around, but still far too car-centric for me.

What a game. Great start to the series. Let’s go Jays. We got this.

LFG.

Feels like playoff baseball already especially with the cooler temps and lower sun. Three more outs and the Jays are officially in the postseason. Let’s go!

Back from a nice camping weekend. Awoke to the sounds of the waves hitting the rocky shores of Georgian Bay. Walked 30ft. to the beach for the sunrise. Had bacon and eggs by the fire with a lake view. Wandered around Thornbury with a latte before the drive home.

The inspo for this camping weekend was to get up to Thornbury Craft Co. since we’ve been drinking their cider all summer. Taproom has live music, flights and food.

Coffee and a tasty treat at Good Grief Coffee Roasters in Thornbury. A bit of rain overnight but we’re surviving.

How long have I been listening to podcasts? My first player was a Creative Nomad IIc. I bought it off a clearance table somewhere in like 2005? 128MB of internal storage but the IIc had an SD Card slot.

I've been trying to remember the name of a big machine I used to operate when I was working in TV post production like 20 years ago. It cut one-off laserdiscs. I asked ChatGPT this morning and it straight up just told me that I was probably thinking of the ODC LVDR-610. And it was correct.

Our bike ride to Ookwemin Minising was interrupted by a wee ship leaving the ship channel through the Cherry St. lift bridge. #toronto #portlands

Good to be back running with the gang this morning. Out to the Beach and back for 15km.

Last morning at the cottage was nice. We're back home now after the drive and doing all the things like laundry, unpacking, etc. One last morning lake pic...

Swam, kayaked, laid out in the sun on the dock, finished one book and started another. Cottage life for one more day.
August 7, 2025 at 7:24 PM
Second last day that starts with a swim in the lake. The stillest of the week by far.
August 7, 2025 at 10:58 AM
Another day, another morning swim on a glassy lake. The water is warmer than the air so there was a nice misty layer rising off the surface. Absolutely dead quiet except for the loons and a passing CPKC freight train.
August 6, 2025 at 10:38 AM
Cottage tradition for me is to start every day with a swim in the lake. Today the lake was pretty choppy but the water temperature is warmer than the air. Hot days but cooler nights is the forecast all week.

Arrived at the cottage on Christie Lake. We were here last year in July and loved it so it's back for another week of rest and relaxation in summer 2025, both physical and also mental. Much needed after a difficult last couple of months.

Fun morning cheering at the Pride and Remembrance Run. Yes, that’s the Mayor of @toronto.ca Olivia Chow. #prideto

Solstice sunrise is not so pretty. Oh well.
