An amazing, original piece from artist @garybaseman accompanied our July #PolluterOfTheMonth announcement. We needed something that simultaneously showcased the destructive nature of fossil fuels while poking fun at them, as @jameshadgis.bsky.social shared:

We launched a campaign to hold #BigGasPolluters accountable for their methane emissions.

Our database shows that of the 100 largest US onshore oil & gas producers, over half of the companies have no goal for reducing methane & 93% don’t have a goal to reduce their total emissions footprint AT ALL.

ICYMI: #Disinformation isn't just a problem– it's an epidemic. With platforms like X & Meta scaling back moderation, bad actors are exploiting these gaps to push disinformation. And Latinos– who rely heavily on news from social media– are at even greater risk.

I'm a believer in smart policy, but all the finger-pointing in the LA firestorm about hydrant flows and LAFD budgets seems like arguing about the adequacy of Hiroshima's 1945 building code standards. It's a way to evade the big questions.

Well, the planet is burning.
Don't let them look away.
