A new investigation has revealed that grocery delivery service Instacart is using a covert, AI-powered dynamic pricing scheme to charge customers different prices for the same items — potentially costing households over $1,000 more a year.
Instacart Reportedly Using Secret AI-Powered Dynamic Pricing to Jack Up Prices
In an experiment, investigators found that the same grocery basket at a Seattle store cost between $114 and $124.

I’ve seen reports of folks premiums increasing by as much as 338%, absolutely devastating and inhumane.
People are going to die because of the pending insurance premium hikes. I know the terrain of discourse is inconsistent and goes through a tumble cycle every 24 hours, but I really think we need to hone in on this reality and drive it home for people.

This feels more like a poor attempt to be relatable than anything.

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

"A political class that responds to this crisis of despair with derision or blame does not merit the support of young people. Unless Labour can offer a compelling answer to the question ‘what do I have to be hopeful for?’, they don’t deserve to govern."

Generation Despair
Work doesn’t pay, housing is out of reach, and life has been enshittified — why should young people keep propping up a system rigged against them?

“It’s really mostly about decay. About Trumpism outside Trump, that heady sense that anything could happen and nothing matters.”

Great piece by @nesrinemalik.bsky.social that really gets to heart of the Nuzzi/Lizza story:

Look again at the Nuzzi affair. Because when our politics and media are so debased, the joke’s on us | Nesrine Malik
There is a bread and circuses feel to this scandal. A wise public would see red flags; instead it sees entertainment, says Guardian columnist Nesrine Malik

The 'nationalize the economy' discourse doesn't feel like it's leading us any closer a socialist political platform with mass appeal. We need to meet people where they're at (👋 Mamdani) - these are important debates but should they form the foundation of a new party?

A lot of the "spook" talk around the new left party feels like misplaced anxiety - about the failures of Corbynism 1.0, and the lack of class aned regional diversity among its loudest voices.

The answer isn't to indulge in conspiracy. It's creating a radically democratic party structure.
