At the point you’re taking four years why not use that time to do it via a citizens assembly or a judicial inquiry, instead of basically having all the disadvantages of rushed legislation and all the disadvantages of a slow, considered process?

I agree, but sometimes that comes at a cost to reducing access. Basic E.g can we provide the excellent care to one person, or can we provide good care to two people and free space in the system for someone else to get out of A&E onto amu and therefore an ambulance to offload their patient.

I’m just not a big fan of the outsourcing model. I work in an “nhs hospice”, you’ll be familiar with a similar model in Oxford. We’re efficient, we see more patients than the hospices around us. Think the responsibilities and integration with the local system that come with the funding will be key.
