There will undoubtedly be much debate about individual functions and departments over the coming months but is it too much to ask to engage in sensible and much needed debate about form and function whilst being kind to the people involved

It is vital that this significant reform doesn’t derail the important work needed to continue to run the NHS every day and seek future improvements - I know this will be the priority for my ex colleagues in NHSE and DHSC despite their individual positions

Whilst some took to social media yesterday to celebrate the news or revel in the drama, I recieved many messages from ex colleagues worried about their own futures, but also amazingly all were more worried about how their important work will continue within a new structure

The shifts achieved in the delivery of Long Term Plan commitments marked significant improvements in healthcare delivery, and the efforts of all teams during the pandemic cannot be forgotten
