Very impressed by letter in @theguardian.com from @jamescsanderson.bsky.social. We can’t talk about hospices without talking about inequalities in access to hospice care in less affluent areas and communities.

Great to hear @hospiceuk.bsky.social CEO Toby Porter speaking to the House of Lords committee on the importance of improving palliative care ahead of any introduction of assisted dying. It's so important that terminally ill people have access to the right care and genuine choice at the end of life.
Today Hospice UK CEO, Toby Porter, gave evidence to the House of Lords inquiry on assisted dying today.

In his evidence, Toby highlighted the significant financial pressures still facing the hospice sector, which continue to limit patient access to vital care and support.

Steph's time at one of our hospices is about more than care - it’s a space where she feels supported, inspired and a part of a community.

Thank you @paulettehamiltonmp.bsky.social for raising palliative care at yesterday's Health and Social Care Committee in Parliament.

We agree with Wes Streeting MP, palliative care should be "giving people real choice on the care they receive, when they receive it and where they receive it".
