Re. Abigail Dean (appearing with you at SN), I just snapped up Girl A for 99p on Kindle. I've just started The Death of Us and the writing is *exceptional*.

One of my favourite novels. I still haven't read Klara and the Sun, so that's going to be an earlier priority for me in '26.

Thanks for being honest about the "imp of self-doubt". It's always good to normalise this part of writing and being human – and show how to overcome it.🙂

Hope you've been there. A number of UK cities are truly amazing, and need to be experienced. As well as Edinburgh, there's York, Chester, Bath. Many more.

Sometimes I need to read everything by an author before I move on. Or I'll stay in one genre for a while. Why? Because if I'm reading something that relaxes me or makes me happy, that's incredibly valuable for my mental health (and, as such, my productivity).

Available "everywhere books are sold"? Well, yes, I even managed to pre-order here in Portugal. I cannot wait for a new masterpiece from my favourite working author.😀

After THE ART OF A LIE, I've binged everything Laura has written, and fallen in love with the 18th century, and bought copies for friends. Thank you, Laura. Your craft is **amazing**. You're an inspiration for other writers.

As I may have mentioned, Don Winslow is a massive hero of mine. He announced his retirement back in 2022, but I've just noticed he has a new book out in January '26!!! !!! It's a collection of short novels called THE FINAL SCORE. (His previous collection, BROKEN, is fantastic.)

Agreed. Enough, no more. It's breaking my heart. I don't normally attend public protests, but now I have to. The reporting on mainstream media (not least the BBC) clearly shows some of most evil, sadistic behaviour in history.
