I know that it really doesn't matter, but it's frustrating the hell out of me that I misspelled Guy Pearce as "Guy Pierce" in my last set of Christmas Carol posts.

It was time to move even further from the mainstream adaptations, and tonight was the 2019 FX miniseries starring Guy Pierce.

A Christmas Carol (2012) with Vincent Fegan as Scrooge

To start my marathon for the year, I decided to go with a more faithful adaptation to warm back up into the process.

“A Christmas Carol” Marathon 2024

Last December I undertook a project to read through an extensively annotated version of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” and then to watch as many adaptations of it as I could get through before Christmas day.

My reading goal for the rest of the year. Anything else I make it through will be a happy bonus.

I'm not sure how I'm splitting whatever I post between here and Threads, but I feel like noting here as well having finished reading the best book I've finished this year - "Black River Orchard" by @chuckwendig.bsky.social

Some of the best creepy and allegorical horror I've ever read!

I appear to have reached the stage of processing which involves apocalyptic, dystopian, political dreams. Had a vivid one last night where climate change resulted in sporadic storms of rocks, sand, and debris. Musk and RFK started standing outside with their mouths open to catch as much as possible

Watched "I Saw the TV Glow" last night. Still processing through all of the layers but it's definitely one of my favorite films of 2024.

I feel like every day for the last week is a complete toss-up for what level of emotion and processing I'm waking up with. Today just feels like a whole bunch of exhaustion.

Alright. Taking the active step of actually posting on here in an attempt to break myself away from the cycle of doom that exists on that other site. I'd love to actually engage with others, but sometimes my social anxiety gets the best of me.
