Promising Development: The Future of Aid in an Uncertain World. A brilliant new @thefabians.bsky.social pamphlet launch and talk. While it can feel like Britain and the world is turning inward we must not forget that we are interconnected and have a major role to play in international development.

Britain’s economy works best when people have a real stake.

The Prime Minister said we must “grow our economy from the grassroots.”

Our new report shows what that means in practice. Co-operation driving economic growth that lasts.

Monday was a good day! It's not a regular occurrence going to 10 Downing Street to speak with the Prime Minister's Special Advisor. So had to make the most of it. A productive meeting for our stakeholders, and all part of the political engagement process.

An Evening with @andyburnham.bsky.social and @metromayorsteve.bsky.social was full of heartfelt stories of tragedy, uplifting takes on urban revival and plenty of jokes. Both made the case for devolution, showing what a success 'placed based' politics can be. And I got a signed copy of their book!
