If you are a baby leftists or a liberal interested in Left Wing ideology, this is an amazing place to start, not just because it is by such a gifted mind but because it is just a plain good essay on the most basic fundamentals.

"The Pianist" by Roman Polanski is a film based on the true story of Władysław Szpilman, A Polish and Jewish composer who weathered through life in Nazi occupied Warsaw. A beautiful piece of anti-fascist art with Amazing acting.

No that’s not CGI or cardboard cutouts, “Waterloo” 1970 is a film made with 16,000 extras lended to the film crew by the Soviet military, every person you see is real, and trained in napoleonic era drills!
Undeniably a theme park movie, but a well executed one at that.

Beautiful cinematography in “Barry Lyndon” by Stanley Kubrick; possibly the most historically authentic film set before 1900, being a Greek tragedy, historical epic set at the very dawn of the industrial era.

Literally eating the art direction in Akira Kurosawa's "Dreams" Definitely worth watching for just the Van Gogh sequence alone, not to mention all the others
