@nytimes.com is just daring me to cancel my subscription at this point. What possible value does a conversation summed up by this headline contribute to our national discourse on this topic?

STOP BLAMING WOMEN FOR PROBLEMS THAT ARE CREATED AND PERPETUATED BY MEN. JUST STOP IT.

I am teaching my class of German law students how to find online sources for legal research if they don't trust AI.

For the past 15 years, I have always told students to search the .gov domain. However, I have never had to include this kind of warning, until now.

How far we have fallen.

53-year-old checking in. All that bitterness and hate really does age a person.

So I imagine at this point we are all either this lady or this man, right? #generals #military #petehegseth

Amazingly, I just Bluebooked a citation to the exact book that is sitting on my desk because I want to read it myself. This is the first time this has happened since I started my editing business.

Also, we probably all should be reading The Shadow Docket by @stevevladeck.bsky.social.

One has too much pride, the other too much prejudice.

Meanwhile, this was the face my cat Zoey gave me after I went on vacation for a week:

Our Ziggy left us in 2019 at the age of 15 and I still think about him pretty much every day. He did not meet a human he could not charm into just adoring him. It was extraordinary. Wishing your sweet friend and you ease and comfort.

Article I Section 9 is back! I missed it, no lie. #annotatedconstitution #articleIsection9

UPDATE: Congress's Annotated #Constitution website, #articleIsection9 is still "page not found." (constitution.congress.gov/browse/artic...). Check out what is missing from the government's site at constitutioncenter.org/the-constitu.... It's A LOT. #habeascorpus #emoluments

Oh, and here are our two former ferals, Zoey (from Florida, looking out the window) and Fred (from New Hampshire, napping). They met at the cat shelter in Boston, where they became boyfriend and girlfriend. We had to adopt them as a pair or not at all. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

The United States communicated its intention to not ratify the Rome Statute in 2002 (thanks GWB) and does not recognize the International Criminal Court's jurisdiction. No matter how much we want him brought up on international criminal charges, it will never happen. treaties.un.org/doc/Publicat...

This picture is from the UN Treaty Series, showing the US's 2002 communication on this issue. US officials will never be charged in the International Criminal Court because we do not recognize its jurisdiction to criminally charge US citizens. treaties.un.org/doc/Publicat... (2/2)

We were in India in 2019 and there was a match between India and West Indies that went on for a while (days). You have not seen sports fans until you experience that country when their team is playing that game. Oh, and there is also clearly a minimum hotness requirement for all Indian cricketers.

I am not a trained artist at all but I like experimenting with collage. It's a nice outlet for all the things I want to say. Here are my two most recent ones.

I have no kids but two cats (Zoey is the window sitter, Fred is the napper). Mother's day is complicated for me for a lot of reasons. I appreciate this message a lot. 💕

There are neither enough faces nor enough palms. Oh, yes, and not enough cigarettes either.

Finished listening to the audiobook of Shuggie Bain and wow. I will be thinking about it forever. Angus King did a wonderful job on what must have been a tremendously difficult read.

Unfortunately, the U.S., while being a signatory to this treaty, had declared its intention to not be bound by it. treaties.un.org/doc/Publicat..., page 500.

Just posting this, my favorite of the "stop normalizing the grind" meme pictures for no reason at all.

Lord, it's exhausting to be alive in America right now. I think we all need about 20 naps.

This image from a meeting between Friedrich Merz (incoming German chancellor) & Emmanuel Macron speaks volumes. Merz "speaks French and has a relationship with France." Where will the Trump-led U.S. be? On the sidelines, where we belong. We're in trouble, folks. www.t-online.de/nachrichten/...
