Sine and Cosine for signal processing in statistics is so powerful that trigonometry would probably be kept in the curriculum. But I agree that stats might be the most intuitive way to teach complex quantitative material with a concrete and relevant material.

For this reason I think the on ramp to Math/Stats should start from the humanities. Like learn to read and understand the manual first before you start operating heavy machinery.

I got a dumb question: When I saw this I thought of the urban legend that chem professors catch their students cheating by checking for a bi-modal distribution in the exam scores.

So, if there’s a a bi-modal distribution of IQ for men, would that suggest cheating or manipulation?

There's a mean between hyping AI as something that changes everything and seeing it as a dystopian horrorscape.

It's a tool - it has capabilities and limitations. It's not a panacea and it's dumb to think that it's all upside or downside.
