Look up the book “The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America”. It’s free online, written by DOR republican who was under secretary of education during the Regan era. She exposed the plan to kill public education.

So true…I taught undergraduate future teachers as well as graduate teachers, half of the battle was getting them to use critical thinking skills. Something they should have gotten in grade school! Many told me I was a “hard” teacher lol
