From Aristotelian comic stand point, she deserved better than the straw grasping ambiguity. There are times when I really hate current story telling choices. Frankly, reality sucks enough. I want stories to provide something better.

Continued: Yes, the frequent flashing back to the sonic suppressors are a clue. But for me, since these are always Mike flashbacks, they don't carry enough weight. I wanted a more clear cut and happier out come for Eleven.
