Interested in far too many things. Ones I mainly pay attention to here: urbanism, sustainability, ecology (rewilding), sustainable transport, (geo)politics, football, geography.
Is this sarcasm? Was about to book a van through them for next weekend but didn't because of the overwhelmingly terrible feedback I read

Have the pigs been released to roam free now, or are they still in an enclosure?

Fun fact about Araschnia levana: they show a strong seasonal dimorphism between spring and summer broods. My picture shows a summer brood (called ‘prorsa’).

80% seems worryingly low!

The notice mentions a segregated cycle track, but there's no sign of one in the image. Do you know any more about this, and where it will run?

Yes, in theory. London-style commercial/operational setup seems the best option. Technically, not much investment needed. Driving on fairly empty rural roads with simple layouts is orders of magnitude easier than in cities. Love your pod btw - should get back into listening again.

1: Reduce drunk driving with pub shuttles
2: Connecting people to local PT stations that are too far to walk/cycle
3: Enable community ride-sharing for common trips like shopping or school runs.
4: Reduce isolation/loneliness, particularly among those unable to drive.
5: Prevent roadkill

I used to work in the AV space, until I became convinced that expanding public/active travel was a far superior solution to most problems AV are meant to solve.
BUT: I do think AVs can have significant benefits in rural areas:

What tool did you use for this map?

What would the GDP impact be if the British cities were all on the Western European trend line?

I do get that they mean well, but somehow this whole cycle lane, all the way to Bristol Rd just feels emblematic of the disconnected, low-ambition, afterthought-feeling approach to cycle infrastructure in Brum.

Is that this site? I've been thinking it would make a wonderful location for a park. Water running through it, pubs on 2 corners, great transport, right in the middle of things, lots of residential buildings around, and severe lack of green space in the area.

Great to be at the launch event - hope to volunteer at some sites this year!

Loads of quality modern brick architecture in London

Yep, that's a no-brainer. Shame Ballsall Heath isn't getting a station, because this whole area is an absurdity being so close to town.
