Elections are popularity contests and the Dems haven’t had a popular nominee since Obama. Who was way more popular than McCain and Romney. Bush was more popular than Gore and Kerry. It’s a coolness/charisma/entertainer thing and always has been at least in the modern era.

A lot of the right wing infighting is about who hates Jews more (and I mean that sincerely, not like a “you can’t criticize Israel” thing.) I hope Dems are careful about who they rehabilitate.

“Well he’s deregulating so…” pretty much all they care about and why they voted for him. If you have a big old stock portfolio you shrug and carry on, I guess. We’ll see how well that works when companies stop hiring and the tech market implodes.
