I’ve seen a lot of debate whether Dunk or Igor should start, I think Igor deserves to start, but what we can’t overlook is Dunk’s ability to lead and to organise our defence, there have been a few games where we’ve struggled to see out the game without Dunk’s presence at the back! #BHAFC

You can also tell by the numbers that the physicality of the premier league is not an issue for Ayari at all, he’s turned into a defensive powerhouse and dribbles and drives through other superstar midfielders like they’re not even there, he ran the game in our 1-0 win over Newcastle by doing that!

This was a different Ayari, and us Brighton fans saw this in our pre season friendly win over QPR, where he completely dominated their midfield, and last season he struggled to match the physicality of championship oppositions, but he was showing strength, skill and power against a good QPR side!

This turned out to be incredible for Ayari’s development, I think he knew his own weaknesses now and worked on them all throughout the summer! He knew his physicality had to be worked on, and it showed straight away that he was a different unit!

People also forget that Brighton don’t send players out to get the perfect loan move for them where everything’s comfortable, we send these players out to learn and to adapt to these different scenarios, to see how they can react to a team in bad form, or a team not playing to their style!
