Here's a Mpls/St Paul election map that ran in Sunday's paper

Thanks for the feedback. I'm happy to answer questions about our reporting decisions for this story.

We did pull data from all the PACs supporting candidates in this election, and that's reflected on the last chart in the story. Thrive PAC disclosed only donations from All of Minneapolis.

I'm super proud of our Uptown multiverse map. It may be the most stylish map the Strib has ever published. Prince would be proud!

Graco is leaving Minneapolis. Kinda wild that all this riverfront property in northeast is about it be up for grabs.

We spent an entire paddling season researching and paddling across the Twin Cities to create this guide. The Star Tribune has never put out a guide this comprehensive. Get out on the water, people. It's really the best thing you can do this summer.

Amazing weekend in Necadah. Saw A WHOOPING CRANE, two wolves, and climbed some very climbable rocks. Perennially underrated area.

Made it up north this past weekend. Lake Superior was being tempestuous.

Same perspective today. The only buildings I can spot in both are the Ford building and a couple buildings downtown.

Whew, what a week. I had this map for the Iditarod all ready to go, and then the race officials announced a new route with one day to spare before the story published. I had to rebuilt it basically from scratch. Always give yourself a buffer when downloading raster data, folks. You may need it. 1/3

Plopped in the middle of the story is an awkward attempt to get you to click over into Gaia GPS. This is content verticals run amok.

Then, before I've even really gotten into what the story is about, I'm urged to click an affiliate link to buy the book. This comes across as a desperate attempt to get some change. Not to mention they're trying to sell you the book on the back of this supposedly journalistic account.

After clicking over to the old home page, I find a story that catches my eye about Jon Krakauer defending criticism of his book, Into Thin Air. This article is a mess. The first thing I see is a completely unrelated video about four-wheel drive. You better believe it autoplays.

They recently changed their home page to a social media-like algorithmic feed. Who asked for this? This is now the default view.

Lots happening in the news right now. It's easy to miss that the MPRB just released updated plans for the Grand Rounds missing link. That's some serious bike infrastructure.
