I’m hopelessly in love with ceramics

I used a wax resist on the glaze of this casting and got great results. I’m excited to try a red glaze instead! my cup mold needed more work so I decided to take the plunge on a large casting. It’s crazy thin—1/8th of an inch if that.

The shed is done. I’ll post some more progress pics soon, but imagine a single man, toiling to build a workspace in the scant freetime he can find. This has been my life these 3 weeks hence. #dreams

Oof. Making progress on my potting shed, but it is an effort friends!

As a boy, I loved to sing and play guitar.

I was told to choose what I love second best, so I’d always have music even if I hated my job. I chose software.

I’ve come to terms with that decision, and am now working to establish my ceramics business.

You will never be able to experience everything. So, please, do poetical justice to your soul and simply experience yourself.

Been heads down, and I'm excited to share an update!
I realized handles should be cast separately, always. Clay doesn't like that empty space ;)

I'm working on a new vessel--Here's a render of the handle! It's a modified #cardiod using #bezier functions

Been awhile--I've been really struggling with this cup shape! So I'm taking a break and making some gnomes instead. Might reimagine the cup.

Reprinting the center mold with 2% draft. here’s hoping this is enough to overcome the vacuum!

I LOVE how this cannon came out—going to be making a lot more of these.

Ideas—like plants—should be constantly growing, and if they’re viable be planted, given support, time, and opportunity.

I’m not comfortable with the amount of music from my youth currently being used to advertise laundry detergent and paper towels

Hey all, looking to share ceramics with more people, so if you could like/follow/reshare, it would really help #allinthistogether

This whale tile’s skin gives me mottled and weathered vibes. I love it! #tilemaking #ceramics

Cross necklaces came out great.

Let me know if I should make more like this!

Pre-firing pics from the next kiln load

I am excited about the cross necklaces and the tiles. First go at these.

Firing the kiln! Cone 03 is about the top of this kiln’s gauge, but it can get hotter (as my recent melt reminds me)

Coming out of this are the cross necklaces, cannon and whale tiles, and a couple #gnomathy numbered sculptures. The gnomes will be up on the shop, Saturday the 8th!

Teaser pics of the latest mold: my first cup design. I am elated. Will post interior pics and the first casting in about a fortnight.

To anyone who enjoys my art, thank you for following me :) as someone who found art late in life, the imposter syndrome is real.

Such a relief to see my bisque turn out. After the last melt, I’ll admit I was worried. Check back in 8ish hours for the glaze! #ceramics
