Sadly predictable that BCP’s draft local plan has been rejected, given that the submitted plan only proposed building just over half the legally required number of new homes.

On the bright side, it’s nice to have a government that actually enforces housing targets.

I never really understood why Heart of Wessex was treated like it was inevitable. It didn't really meet any of the white paper criteria other than population.

Hopefully this means we can now push for something better, like a Dorset deal.

Flats in an existing building on the Weymouth seafront blocked because residents might smell fish and chips…

At this point the Government should step in. Dorset Council clearly has no interest in allowing new housing.

Dorset Council officers are recommending refusal for a small development of 7 terraced houses on brownfield land in Weymouth.

The reason? The road leading to them might flood once every 200 years.
