Following discussions today, it is clear that one of the biggest potential (and current) impacts on RE is trust leads.
There are more & more trusts creating this role. Having an individual that knows schools,colleagues & students well AND having subject expertise is key.

What an amazing day at Leeds Trinity ThinkFest! Over 150 GCSE kids spending the afternoon doing philosophy with brilliant lecturers and LTU students! This will have opened up PER as a reality for so many of our kids! Privileged to be a part! @leedstrinity.bsky.social #TeamRE

Interesting to see Byzantine wedding crowns and the Chora icon framed as ‘fascinating’ in contrast to Western traditions by Dr Richard Kueh. So familiar from my Orthodox perspective, but great to see them used here. I’ll dig out my resources to share with colleagues.

I absolutely LOVE that our LAS resources are produced by local teachers, for local teachers. It’s a great way to empower RE professionals while getting some great stuff produced! Working on pathway slides with my assistant today! #TeamRE

Every year we send our y11s a motivational Christmas card. This year it will have a QR code…to the EPR dept. Christmas music video! The bar will be low, but looking forward to giving it a bash!

The issue is that no matter what thinking, teachers/subject leads do for their subject, whole sch systems generally scupper them being as good as they could be
Whenever I talk about assessment in RE with people, they don’t want effective assessment. They want RE assessment that fits whole school.

You can't use one assessment for multiple purposes - it gets pulled out of shape.
That's what happened to GCSEs when they were used for all kinds of purposes they weren't designed for.
