This is true not only about Democrats that take a Don't Fight posture, but also those who are willing to hand over alarming and easily abused power to the executive (warrantless surveillance, broad emergency authorities, unilateral war powers, capability to strip nonproft status, etc.)
seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

One of my favorite recurring things on Shark Tank is how a bunch of times when Kevin O'Leary makes an effort other Sharks who previously weren't interest will jump in and make a competing offer because they clearly all find him really damn annoying
Canadian multimillionaire and Shark Tank guy Kevin O'Leary went on TV to say he's upset Zohran won't talk to him: "I and others who invest in real estate have tried to get a meeting to figure out what's rhetoric and what's policy. So far for me it's been crickets."

This bit from Ars Trchnica seems to be the most important takeaway: The trillion dollar possibility will get lots of attention, but it’s also based on bold long term goals. Musk can be a replacement level CEO and still reap obscene rewards.

ICE treatment of facial recognition matches as a definitive ID is reckless and dangerous.
There is virtually universal agreement — even by police that promote the tech — that treating matches as defintive IDs is irresponsible.

Yes, a photo can tell a recruiter the applicant's race, gender, and maybe other protected traits like disability or religion, but not much else. SO IT'S REALLY EFFING ILLEGAL TO MAKE HIRING DECISIONS THIS WAY.

Should facial analysis help determine whom companies hire?
