it is almost as if accommodating and conceding to far right ideas legitimizes them and signals to voters that the far right is a legitimate choice for governance
The Danish Social Democrats are currently on course for their worst election result since at least the Second World War, despite their brand of far-right accommodationism being touted as a blueprint for other centre-left parties.

My 3rd? time seeing SUDDEN FEAR, and it’s moved into the upper echelon of noir for me. It’s top-tier: evil Jack Palance, wicked Gloria Grahame, suffering Joan Crawford. Great direction, cinematography, plot. Might also be the movie over which Crawford had the most creative control. What a flick.

I know many new writers worry about how readers will receive their work. That’s a valid concern! That said, two things:

1. This gig is only worth it if you write what YOU want.

2. Some will hate your stuff, but some will like it. Your readers. They’re awesome. Write for them.

The Heart O’ Chicago hotel hasn’t seen this much action, possibly ever. Not in literature, anyway. The 1950s motel along Lincoln Avenue’s “hotel row” is just one of the many if-you-know-you-know locations highlighted in Chicago author Jake Hinkson’s latest crime novel, You Will Never See Me. Hinkson writes noir, the darkest of crime fiction, for…

As much as the Trumpists claim to disavow the War on Terror, they walk a path paved by the most powerful vice president in U.S. history.

I love how the last image of MILDRED PIERCE ties Mildred—who, by film’s end, has lost both her empire and the family she built it for—back to the working women she sprang from. It’s an incredibly potent symbol of the film’s critique of wealth and class.
