I love dogs.
I can't think of a single mammal I dislike, I'm at least fond of all chordates, and there are quite a few plants, fungi, and works of art I could not live without; but I really love dogs.

"Two" assassination attempts. One was just an old man carrying a gun.

I'm not saying some random kid from PA could intentionally, reliably scrape a face, but I'm not great and I scalped a pumpkin with the first cartridge I fired from my partner's new .357 revolver.
An orange pumpkin, closer in size to an adult hand than a head, resting on a wooden sawhorse, with paper targets stapled to it, and a number of aluminum cans tied to small cuts in the top of the wood. There is a familiar face drawn on the pumpkin with a black sharpie and white paint. A line scrapes along the top of the scalp, perhaps an inch at its deepest, from one eyebrow to the back, touching the spot where the stem had been before the bullet took it off. A few strands of blonde pipecleaner lie on the dirt behind. The exit wound on one cheek shows where a second shot came out, overpenetrating as it lay upon the ground where it fell.

Gavin, grey eye forward, hold an inflatable tennis ball, roughly 1' in diameter. The angle gives a sense of disorientation, leaving the viewer with the impression the dog is striking a curious pose.
