Back in the day, h-1b visas were for positions that couldn’t be filled with US talent. These should be denied.

Not to mention that Andressen himself & other techbro VCs have benefitted MIGHTLY from hiring non-whites from other countries via H-1B Visas & intentionally investing in companies who have moved their operations offshore.

You can't sanction Russia, unless you sanction India which is giving Russia hundreds of billions in dollar for their oil.
Trump's "big announcement" on Ukraine is that he's going to put 100 percent tariffs on Russia if there isn't a Russia-Ukraine deal soon

Every year, half of H-1B visas go to middlemen – outsourcers, like TCS, who find lower-paid contract workers. But who hires the middlemen? Bloomberg exclusive data shows the “end-client” companies benefitting from the broken visa system.

H-1B Middlemen Bring Cheap Labor to Citi, Capital One
Major US banks like Citi and Capital One are outsourcing to H-1B middleman firms which game the visa lottery system to hire thousands of lower paid workers.

Musk lied about not being in the U.S. illegally when he was working on GLIN/Zip2. He wasn't attending Stanford and hadn't graduated from U.Penn so he didn't qualify for H-1b. Even Kimbal admitted they were illegals.

He also lied about the gov not using SQL and about who was getting SSec.
Hypocrite.

AI is just the latest trend in cost-cutting by management, one that started decades ago by "laying off" domestic talent and outsourcing key development jobs overseas (or, in one case I know of, importing an entire department of H-1B "consultants" to replace the former SW department)

All about the $
