Agreed, we have a corner store nearby in neighborhood, but it’s more like a gas station quick mart. Kinda like a gray area.. could be so much more for the area as a cafe or coffee shop or retail or whatever else - prob could be both if parking wasn’t mandatory.

I am lucky but definitely feeling trapped in a middle class gray area when I think about our kids prospects and these kind of paths. Get done paying off our accumulated debt in same general time to help kids with theirs to get started? Seems fucked

generally, most ppl want stability in housing before they have kids, this makes sense. If you haven’t gotten on that ladder and the hill ahead of you looks like red $$$ yes it sucks. College is expensive, housing is expensive, childcare is expensive.. these are the “upward trajectory” life++ mix

when I see some ppl arguing about housing and affordability I feel like they miss the forest for the trees. housing may be marginally more expensive in the data.. the lived experience of scarce and still relatively expensive housing in most urban cores, plus *everything else* is what sucks

yeah the “too big to fail” definition is certainly not true, but if economy is relatively stagnant and the stock market and AI infused run up is the juice, then there is incentive to keep it cranking, and anthropic being one of few AI companies ppl can name might gives it an outsized weight

yep.. hammer, nail, etc.. not his fault but if you’ve been trained to solve every problem by building a new app then you’ll go for it vs. finding a solution within non-dev means. People are crazy creative (good and bad)

Tbh prob more efficient to keep all this kinda shit in excel and let non tech ppl do it with excel skills than continue to build apps for single use cases and proliferate terrible ecosystems, silo’d data, unsupported one off shit across orgs. Not everything has to have an app!

There are many pretty good quality Bluetooth earbuds for very reasonable price, anker/soundcore are my go to now because I continued to repeatedly lose one or more of the nicer jabra or Apple ones.
