This may be the worst data visualization I have ever seen. Read below for some hot takes about this shit dataviz by the super transphobic @nytimes.com
We can quibble about the placement of each item but the original sin here is the very existence of this graph. Why on earth would a news organization rank social issues like they're weapons in an RPG?
Of course the NYT sees the "DEI" stuff positively & is neutral on anti-trans discrimination

I’ve been thinking of this older work lately. This is “The Wave of Mutilation” from 2015- and yes it’s a Pixies nod.

The Wave of Mutilation” is a semi–permanent wave off of the coast of Samesies Island. The wave appeared when a group of transmen decided to set sea in search of utopia…

Don't wait to make your freaky kinky weird queer art. Don't wait until you feel more secure in your drawing/painting/painting/sculpture/performance skills. Do it now, cause your fellow queers need every drop of it.

A short musing on the co**p

Racism is the avatar of class struggle.
It's the sword and the shield of capitalism.
It is also why we are in this mess:

-Failed Reconstruction
-Lost Cause Mythology
-Conservative backlash against Brown. V. Board
-Neoliberalism

What did we expect?

A group of students came up with the phrase “GAFer” in class yesterday. I told them it sounds like a position in a film/tv set. They said it stands for “give a fuck”-er, as in, someone who cares as opposed to IDGAF. Brilliant.

Maybe you need some queer/trans utopian dreaming in your life? For the cost of shipping (about $5), I will send you a copy of 5 maps of collaboratively imagined trans/queer utopias in A Different Horizon Atlas made by me and over 20 collaborators. Or,

I have been thinking a lot about what this next administration will bring and about how universities can be proactive in protecting and supporting trans faculty, staff and students. I wrote about here:

Really recommend watching this whole interview. A little candor, sanity and humor to end the week.
Had an awesome time chatting with Jon Stewart & @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social talking about how to fight the dumpster fire.

Gear up. It’s time to brawl.
. @aoc.bsky.social on the dangers of a newly normalized Trump and his billionaire feeding frenzy.

New pod out now! #JonStewart #TheWeeklyShow

Private foundations need to start focusing funding on queer art- and I mean queer as in strange, not an identity.

Just a reminder for the next few or more years- verify from trusted sources before you post. We are all scared for our own and our loved ones’ safety. Speak from your experience, verify your sources, help to stop the slew of panicked rumors.

most people who transitioned 20 yrs ago had IDs that did not reflect the gender they were, and they did that w/o broad public understanding of transgender identity, which is not the case now.

hold tight, beautiful trans people. hold tight. whole communities are here to embrace and celebrate you 3/3
