While this country is in disarray, I’m over here in the garden trying to find some joy in my back yard.

The news is so…it’s something. I did not sign up for this dumpster fire. I can’t believe we have to somehow survive the next 4 years. No thriving. Just surviving.

This has been a very news-filled news-y week and it’s only Tuesday. I’m exhausted. I’ve tried to avoid news for weeks, but for some reason I’m unable to escape it this week.

Meta Quietly Removes Major Sections of Hateful Conduct Policies Protecting LGBTQ People and Other Marginalized People

GLAAD: “Zuckerberg’s removal of fact-checking programs and industry-standard hate speech policies make Meta’s platforms unsafe places for users and advertisers alike.”

I’ve been building a Lego set (for myself!) all week, which has proved to be a challenge with Batman’s help.

I sent an email to my child’s school with copy to send to teachers for a PTO event happening this month. My email was forwarded, rather than copy/pasted, and now every teacher has it. And every teacher was cc’d and not bcc’d. Can’t wait to see those reply-all emails.

I’m a big fan of a 5k on Thanksgiving morning, but especially if the race ends with pie and a very short stop by the beach.

A little how it started, how it’s going. Cat edition. Batman found us two years ago in an empty parking lot next to a lake (the day after Thanksgiving) and hitched a ride home with us back to Asheville. These days, he’s enjoying life and clearly hasn’t missed a meal in quite some time.
