The camaraderie in the crossword community is so cool, particularly in a tournament setting. I love solving along with hundreds of people who enjoy this hobby just as much as I do (if not more) and who are so kind and welcoming to boot. I hope to meet everyone someday! 10/10 (virtual) ACPT weekend 😊

When I started making crosswords in 2003 it was a community of a certain kind of weirdo. Since then there have been several waves of new kinds of weirdo and now it’s a special intergenerational weirdo community. Truly just a big win for humanity.

I’m trying to solve as many puzzles as I can that were nominated for the 2025 ORCAS (crossword awards). Crosstina Aquafina and Erik Agard’s themeless no. 32 is one of my absolute favorites so far.
