But Chalmers and (player of the month) Fitzpatrick are elite too. Game on!
December 5, 2025 at 6:29 PM
Tomorrow, we'll need to look out for Ethan Walker in particular (he's scored 2 and had 6 shots on target from runs into this zone in the last few games), and Ayr in general are probably the second best team in the league at this.

attack and defence for the Captain Hook Coefficient. Thistle have two of the top 4 players for getting behind enemy lines (WE'RE BEHIND YOU!) before breaching the box, and 3 of the top 20 Captain Hook Coefficient players overall.

I'm looking at the 'He's Behind You' count and the impact it has on team's success in the Championship. In this particular area, St. Johnstone are light years ahead of everyone else, with 5 of the top 20 players in the league at getting behind opponents, and both the best

Did you know that if you get more than 18% of your touches between the average defensive line of your opponents and the goal, you'll likely end up with an expected goal difference of +2 or better? Well, now you do!

@ntt20.com Monday pod this week, I’m enjoying seeing some NL wingers and alumni getting a bit of exposure. Always worth a listen to the pod, and their posts - including this one by Ryan - are the sort of insight I aspire to

Thistle remain about 50 points clear in 2nd place, and St. Johnstone about 50 points ahead of us. The next two weeks will be very important. You can see the full graphic here: datawrapper.dwcdn.net/AuBWH/1/
Jagalytics Power Rating (12 November)

At this point, I think that the ratings are still showing a bit of a hangover of pre-season expectations - similarly Arbroath are better in the league than their ratings. This may wash out eventually, but it's stuck around longer than I thought it would.
November 12, 2025 at 10:59 PM
Ayr continue to be better in the Power Ratings than in the league, suggesting they might be able to kick on in the next few weeks. Ross County are also underperforming their Ratings rank.
November 12, 2025 at 10:59 PM
Thistle dropped just over 8 ratings points after underperforming against Airdrie. St Johnstone also dropped a couple of points. Both teams remain the only ones who have maintained their pre-season rating, though Dunfermline are getting closer.

Both of the top two are on track for points tallies that would win the league in many seasons in at least half of the sims, but only Arbroath currently have an upper limit of final points in the “win the league” range.
November 7, 2025 at 7:34 PM
St J win the league in 55% of sims and Thistle in 40% - the remaining sims are spilt been four teams.
November 7, 2025 at 7:34 PM
and Abroath might eventually come unstuck. Thistle are looking very solid in 2nd. You can find the full chart here: datawrapper.dwcdn.net/jctgA/1/

In reality, a couple of results could change the placings of most of the pack from 3rd to 7th (or maybe 8th), so the difference to the league table isn't as telling as it could be ... but it's still worth saying that the Ratings believe County and Ayr are stronger than they look
November 5, 2025 at 7:51 PM
...and Arbroath are currently 4 places better off in the 'real' table. If patterns continue, the Ratings think that County will gain a few places and Ayr might bounce back a bit, and Arbroath need to keep plugging away at expectations to hold onto their spot in the league.
November 5, 2025 at 7:51 PM
There is around 50 points between 1st and 2nd, 60 between 60 and 3rd, and then Ayr down to Arbroath is generally much tighter. Ayr and County are both 2 places worse off in the league than in the Power Ratings, though County are now basically tied with Arbroath...
