It's a great book! We've just used stories from this to teach a plug the gap lesson about life in the Third Reich to year 9. It really helped them to understand the complexity of the situation.

There is that! I was at Rievaulx Abbey this afternoon and just stopped for 20 minutes peace and quiet on a bench. It definitely helped.

This was a really helpful blog, thanks for sharing. Helping trainees feel part of the school community is crucial. But I know I'm also grateful to tutors and mentors who helped me feel part of the wider History teaching community and I try to share that with begining teachers too.
