I spoke about 10 years ago at conference on a therapy (Internal Family Systems) that asserts we are all made of separate parts, and mental health does not require integration, but does require a Self to be in charge.
IFS has grown rapidly and has research proving it works.

Put another way, the reason why my ADHD might not be "the same" as ADHD among my (predominantly white) colleagues lies not simply in the fact of our different embodiments, but in the fact that I exist in an environment that is hostile to me in ways that it is not for others.
