What I don't understand is why all of the Hollywood millionaires and the tech and business billionaires don't donate literal pennies of their worth to all of the devastation going on around the world. Why does it always come down to the poor to help the poor?

I don't think that constant negativity and anger is a great solution, but constant, willfully forced positivity feels like the other extreme of the spectrum. Of course we need to be grateful for our privileges while being angry enough to go out and change the world to share them globally w humanity

And because everybody is so overwhelmed, nobody has the bandwidth to hold space for yours. Anybody who does is probably clinging to their bandwidth to not be drained by us and feel like us (us being those overwhelmed by the ecological & political state of the world not just 🇺🇸 🇪🇺 mind you)

people shit in the streets in India. children are enslaved to mines in Africa. most of South America is war torn by narcotrafficker dictatorships. I get that it could be a lot worse. What I don't get is why this means I'm not allowed to *express* unhappiness at all. It's instantly shot down.

Yup. Mine is easier to do now that I've been forced through 7 months of shitbrained comms and half-assed, incomplete training, but I've been looking for something else from week three. It's unfortunately an employers market with job ads posted only to trick investors. 100+ apps on every job lead :(

If you're in the states I would say Jon is the way to go. I'm writing the first book about the instrument and I've interviewed famous and amateur players and makers from all over the world, so I feel like I have the authority to speak on something like this (and love to help not break the bank!!)
