Yesterday in Chișinău I listened to J.S. Bach's St Matthew Passion. In a week, the same venue will host a piano competition dedicated to the work of Ignacy Jan Paderewski.
I wish for Moldova to make smooth progress in its 🇪🇺 accession efforts. We should help them as much as we can in the process.

Of the Moldovan taxists I have met so far, one was staunchly pro-European, another played the “neutrality” card, and the third one thought “NATO enlargement” (including Poland's) is to blame for the war in Ukraine and Igor Girkin's VK post boasting about shooting down MH17 was falsified by the West.

This was a great debate. @timothysnyder.bsky.social articulated the moral case for continued 🇺🇸 support of 🇺🇦 very well, but the points made by Elbridge Colby from the position of realism were convincing and cannot be ignored. This is a domestic 🇺🇸 conversation, but as Europeans, we must pay attention.

Hats off before this wonderful lady. I feel for her, as it must be really hard to be so sensible with that society around.
