Nuanced take, I see the downside here RE cost (DIY is defs cheaper) but the more avenues for care in the UK + the more people publicly pushing for it, the better IMO. Hope it helps some folks. Based of Jude to put her own money behind it for no profit too, she’s a sweet l’il motherrfuckuerr 🫡

Fungal computing using shiitake in a simple petri dish. I remember reading fiction about bio-robotics, but while this study isn't quite a smartphone grown from a palm-tree, it still holds promise. Maybe tomorrows spaceflight will be mycelium powered? #fungifriends

In the lush, Pacific rainforests of Vancouver Island, a fallen tree becomes a nursing ground for a wealth of mosses and vibrant fungi. #fungifriends

A Lawyers Wig, or Shaggy Ink Cap, or in my language an "Wig Ink hat". An edible little friend, although this one might be turning bitter soon as the "wig" gets more inky. #fungifriends

A summer evening: Golden sunset, dancing butterflies, tortillas, sparkling mead, fresh strawberries and icecream, only slightly marred by the 2-year-old in potty training who took a big ol' poop on the deck, which the 6 year old promptly stepped in. Life with nephews.

A detour on a train ride meant I spent an hour waiting for the next train, but it was a good excuse to watch a sunset. I sat alone with my thoughts at the unattended station. Not Japan but still Inaka vibes. Sometimes it's a bliss to be forced to waste time.

During Passover, we talk about the Wicked Child: someone who doesn't see themself as one of those who needed compassion and liberation. If you're sitting at Seder and you look at the people Trump deports to slavery, or trans people he incarcerates, and you don't think "us"? You failed the test.

A record breaking speech from Booker, a dem win in Wisconsin, large gains in Florida, a rejection of Montana's anti-trans bathroom ban... these are good birthday gifts. The perfect weather and the time with family, doggo and queer art was just the cherry on top.

Happy new year. May you be resilient and resistant in the year to come, capable of keeping your dreams and ideals in view. #happynewyear

Your public reminder that if you find yourself concerned about whether someone peeing in a closed stall next to you have the same genitals as you, then YOU are the one with the fucking problem and you need to let other people piss in peace.
