I’ve become that sort of mid-life cyclist who already has (or has had) all the normal bikes and is now only interested in the freak ones. N+2 collected today. How long before I’m sniffing around recumbents?

That’s a wrap! A fitting scene to end the last recce ride for #LostLanesScotland. By far the most challenging and rewarding Lost Lanes book to research. Book will be out next spring 🫰🏴🚲Now off to have some bevvies in Glasgow. 🍻

I too like this way of thinking about solar power v fossil fuels, from @ember-energy.org via @hannahritchie.bsky.social's excellent Substack newsletter.
You could say that wind power is also solar power, as it's the sun that powers the wind, via uneven heating of the earth's surface, right?

The photos in my Lost Lanes books are 10% photography, 90% spending all day outdoors. Had a @quintinlake.bsky.social moment on my last Scottish trip. View from Ardnaneaskan to the Eilean a'Chait lighthouse and Skye. Ten minutes later the storm hit and I was cowering under a tree.

New fully accessible bridge now open at Abergavenny train station. A transformative win for disabled passengers and much easier when travelling with a bike. (Old bridge still there too)
