Bonnington based charity the Compass Therapy Centre are having an open afternoon this Thursday, particularly for people with neurological conditions.

1 in 6 people in the UK have a neurological condition, so really pleased to see such a proactive response in our community.

As a few folk have asked about the access / parking situation on Elm Row, I understand bollards should be installed on the crossing build-out behind the bus stops to protect pedestrian space.

I have asked about potentially returning bollards to the side of the cycle lane.

Libraries are precious spaces, & given the Council's just reviewed timings - should be open for communities.

I was disappointed last summer Leith Library was closed for #GE24.

Glad to get cross party support last month to start formally tracking Edinburgh library availability.

Was an honour as always to help judge the Friends of Montgomery Street Park Halloween Party 'Pumpkin (and neep) & Costume Competition' last night.

Loads of young people put up amazing efforts & every single one was brilliant!

Was a joy to attend Pilmeny Dev Project board meeting on Buchanan Street this week

Despite hard climate for 3rd sector, they're doing brill pro-health, anti-poverty work for Leith, Broughton & Hillside's older, younger & carer residents.

Check out their programme at pilmenydevelopmentproject.co.uk

Unfortunately, we've had longstanding issues pre the Albion Road closure - take your point but hopefully we can get better traffic calming & pedestrian/cyclist infrastructure (whether that's an island etc) without affecting the pavements.

Genuinely UNBELIEVABLE...

Delivering a letter launching my pedestrian safety petition on the junction of Easter Road & Dalmeny Street / St Clair Street, & emerge out a stairwell to another crash.

Spoke to Police & everyone ok but shaken up.

This can't keep happening.

🚒 Caught up with Scottish Fire & Rescue in Leith last wknd to discuss the challenges of safety in tenements

The consultation to close Marionville Stn still live if you want to see it saved - densely populated areas deserve & rely on fast response times: firescotland.citizenspace.com/sfrs-communi...

Well done to the 900+ pupils of Leith Academy tonight & 600+ last week of Drummond Community High School on their end-of-year awards nights.

Leith's changed a lot since the 16th(!) century (Leith Ac founding) & they've showcased both progressive values & steadfast achievement!

Called for this dangerous Leith Walk (Iona Street) pavement replacement since May 2024. Grateful to CEC staff for works starting & will continue to pursue remaining LW #ActiveTravel safety/access concerns.

It's part of a 'fixes' list being compiled after tramworks - am currently tracking 82 issues.

Popped by the Street Soccer Scotland's #Kitback launch last night at Leith Arches.

They're taking donations of football shirts - parted from this @ecfcofficial.bsky.social classic from circa them becoming an SPFL team but hope it can be used again! streetsoccer.org.uk

💳 @edinburghtrams.bsky.social have confirmed they're working on a fix for issues scanning National Entitlement Cards (for older people or individuals with disabilities & their carers) at tram stops.

Please do not let this stop you travelling if you hold an NEC pass.
