"Another aggressively shallow, visually garish, and spiritually lost exercise in the machine of corporate slop that's plagued Trek for the last decade."
It's bad, people. It's so bad.

At present, in Dayton, OH, it is 9° with a wind chill of 1°. Overnight, 2° and -10°
We are expecting 12" of snow and -20° this weekend.
Remind me why I live in this @#$%&! state?!?
I grew up in National City just south of San Diego 😫

Modern Trek producers would be incapable of making a Trek film or series with the intelligence and grace of TMP.

The answer to yesterday's post was "Tickle Me" from 1965. A hilarious and silly romp that doesn't take itself seriously. The whole end of the film plays out like a Scooby Doo episode too. Highly recommended.
As for my favorite Elvis song...

Okay movie nuts! I am watching another of Elvis' films tonight....one that contains my personal favorite of his songs. Anyone want to take a stab at the name of the film and guess the song?
And yes, that is Julie Adams of Creature From The Black Lagoon!

"You shall not pass!!!"
Been spending many hours (over seven so far) watching the extended cuts of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The Balrog of Morgoth is still one of the best creature designs in film history.
What are some others?

My teen years it was The Salem Mall here in the Dayton area
In college it was the Cinemark on Bethel in Columbus - movies cost $3 and we were all poor college kids.
Lately, if and when we go, it's the Rave in Huber Heights.

Observation: If you don't like Neelix, you're a jerk.
He kept up morale when the crew was at their lowest. He was resourceful; saving the crew from starving, finding supplies to keep them going, and helping navigate the quadrant. He was kind, loyal, and brave.
A top-notch character.
