There was never a question of that silly, complicated boy loving me as much as I still love him. I said this long before he died, that I wished I could trade lifespans so he could outlive me.

My Cocker spaniel Ozzy was only 8 1/2 when he died (you can thank my sperm donor for poisoning him and blaming us), but he was the first dog I had for more than 2 years. He was my kid, my firstborn, and even though he’s been gone for a decade now I still think of him too. He had the cutest mustache.
