People of the UK overwhelmingly support increasing tax on gambling.

Government response?

'Sorry, my friends in the gambling lobby wont let me'

When I raised a complaint about an adult gaming centre, my local authority immediately escalated it to the gambling commission.

The gambling commission weren't interested. Now they want to blame local authorities for their own lack of action.

Surely this is taking the piss though? 😂

There are more places to gamble on the high street than there are GP surgeries.

A chicken shop would be inspected every year. Why are we allowing these places to behave with impunity on our high streets?

19 inspections is absurd.

Considering having a living hedge installed?
Probably avoid this guy.
If this is how he behaves on his business account, in public, imagine what he's like when he thinks no one is listening?

Orchestrated campaign?? Well funded?
No. Just victims of these companies telling their stories.
May 12, 2025 at 6:01 PM
There's no malicious, well funded campaign. Just individuals who have suffered at the hands of Merkur Slots and others like them telling their stories.

Instead of cleaning up their act, they've decided to attack and blame the victims.

Good news!

If most people play at 30p per spin, there's really no need to increase the number of £2 per spin machines.

This lunatic has been out for a total of 5 miles over 2 walkies, plus an hour of charging round the garden the second it stopped raining, and still found the time to rip all the stuffing out of her bed.

My mum was sucked in by a slots venue while undergoing cancer treatment.

She'd spend every penny she had there, & often money she didn't have.

Councils can't stop these venues multiplying until the laws change.
